The village of Stranka is named after hillsides that it is located on or perhaps the name indicates that the village was situated away from the main road. The valley, along which the village is situated, runs here from Mseno. It runs further in the southeast direction below Ledce and further to the Mlada Boleslav district. Stranka is located 17 km northeast of Melnik. A district road to Mlada Boleslav runs past Stranka.

Stranka is situated in a fertile and woody countryside and it has a good location.

Stranka, a cadastral village, makes up together with villages "Tajna" and "Ostry" a cadastre that belongs under Obecni.
